Richard Charles Lewis Bradshaw
30th September 1944 – 18th January 2014
Richard moved to Redditch in 1979.
He influenced and inspired others to improve their general health, fitness and cycling skills.
He joined the now Cycling Touring Club CTC Heart of England Cycling Club in 1999.
He was a Founder Member of Redditch & Bromsgrove CTC Cycling Club.
He became a Sustrans Volunteer Ranger from 2011 and a Sustrans Group Co-ordinator from 2012.
He started the Sustrans led rides from Arrow Valley Park in 2013 to encourage residents to use the local infrastructure for safer cycling of routes to school, the shops and work.
He became a Bikeability Instructor in October 2012 training children in local primary schools about cycling road safety.
He led a group of volunteers to audit potential cycle routes in and around Redditch for the 'Choose How You Move' Project.
Richard's dedication to cycling has been honoured by naming this bridge 'The Richard Bradshaw Bridge'.
