There was a young lady of London Town
Who wished to go to sea.
So she purchased a house in Cornwall
With the name of Trevaney
She'd sit on the sand
And hear the sea
She'd walk on the bluff
With Wind in her hair,
What a glorious time
It was for her there.
She'd open her house
To friends far and wide,
Offering all manner
Of warmth and good fare.
The laughs would ring out
And the wine would flow
T'was close to heaven, as you know
Her children played all summer long
And the years rolled on in bliss.
For this land of saints
Her love grew strong,
Her walks were never missed.
So one day l thought
How nice it would be
For this lady to mark
Her territory
What could I do for my sister dear?
And then it came to me;
As her birthday was almost near
I'd offer her something
That she could hold dear.
A bench for kind Susan
In praise and good cheer
For the love she has shown
To so many each year.
And then when she rests to watch the tide,
With a dear littie dog by her side.
She can share her love of this place so fine.
With others who'll sit and enjoy the sunshine.
